Working For Yourself Starts at Home!

Have you been thinking about working for yourself? Every day, more and more people are making this choice. Why? Right now, nearly 16 million people are unemployed and more than seven million jobs have been lost since late 2007. In all, more than one out of every six workers - 17.5 percent - was unemployed or underemployed in October. The previous recorded high was 17.1 percent, in December 1982.

There are many more people who would like to be working full time and have been able to find only part-time work, according to the governments' monthly survey of workers. One of the more striking aspects of this Great Recession is that most of its impact has fallen on a relatively narrow group of people.

Increasingly, people have turned to starting a home business as the solution to their financial woes. There was a time when a home business was thought of as a way to "just make some extra money", but in these times, selling Tupperware® or Amway® to friends and family has been replaced by a growing need to generate the type of income that used to come from a more traditional full time job.

Indeed, even corporate America has taken heed, and now even after downsizing, many companies are having their employees "telecommute" - working from home while the office itself is closed. This way, they save on overhead costs while still getting production.

Many companies have also found that they will save even more if they "outsource" their administrative jobs to the home business community. Sounds like a perfect solution, a true "win-win" scenario, but you ask yourself, can I generate enough money to cover my bills? Is this a better option than a traditional second job? What do I need to do to get started? How do I contact the companies and get their business? How do I separate the good opportunities from the not so good?

The short answer is, just get started!
